Eeek!  Didn't realize it had been so long since I posted here!  So much has happened this past month!

We picked up our newly modified van!  Finally we're free to come and go with Terry!  Of course, there are pictures, but I'll post those later.  Just now wanted to update and say we're in Charlotte visiting Terry's Dad who's in the hospital.

Terry had a great week!  He did a lot of little things that he hasn't been doing for some time!  Drinking from a straw, smiling, winked at Jennie!, nodding, shaking his head no, just little things, but huge for us!

He's been staying awake for hours!  That is so unusual!  We'll take all the improvements we can get!

There hasn't been much to report lately....just daily routine.  We were home bound with the snow here for a week!  Yes, Terry got to watch it snow for a few minutes here and there.  He falls asleep after just two or three minutes, usually.  I even opened the door to let him feel the cold air and look out for a minute, a couple of times.  Snow is so beautiful and refreshing!

We continue to see glimpses of Terry...a nod here and there, a "no" head shake, taking a bite of food, Jennie even got a smile last Saturday!  It's amazing how much a little thing can make our day!

We're going to the beach!  Before Terry stopped talking he asked to go to the beach.  So we're finally going!  We'll be spending April in Pass Christian, Mississippi.  I talk to him about it all the time.  We're counting down the weeks!  I believe all of his brothers and sisters may come to see him!  When I told him that he raised his eyebrows!  And of course Shirley and Andy (Terry's parents) will be there for a few days, as well as some of my sisters and friends.  So, if any of you are in the neighborhood drop by to see us!

Since the last post Terry has started kissing back almost every time!  He still sleeps most of the time, but when he's awake he's a little more alert than usual.

Yesterday I came in the living room with a dish of ice cream.  He was awake so I offered him a bite.  He opened his mouth!  I fed him almost the whole dish!  (I eat ice cream out of a juice glass, so it wasn't a lot, but it's the most he's eaten in months!)

Monday we took a trip to the Dallas VA...on the bus at 6:05am and home around 3:30!  It was a hard trip for all of us, but worth it.  They are ordering him a new wheelchair, one that reclines.

We're taking him out today while the weather is beautiful. We're going to the mall to walk around a little.  It's supposed to be 70 today!

Terry actually returned a kiss yesterday!  Just barely moved his lips, but I count it as reason to rejoice!  And this morning when his nurse spoke to him he turned his head and looked at her!  He rarely acknowledges us, so these two occasions are indeed huge!

Forget to share this earlier...My new verse for the year:

"The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy."  Psalm 126:3

Thanks to Ann and Larry Stevenson for sending a Christmas card with that verse on it.  God is always working in our lives.
Well, Christmas and New Years have come and gone and I'm just getting back to this!  I'm a list maker and every day writing on this blog is on the list!  :/ (sheepish grin)

Terry is still sleeping and sleeping and sleeping.  He's awake just a few minutes here and there.  We try to include him in as many things as we can.  I tried to keep him awake while opening his gifts.  He doesn't seem aware of things, for the most part.  It's sad, but we still get a glimpse of his personality every now and then.

Thought I'd share some pictures of our Christmas.

The weekend before Christmas Taylor, our oldest grandson spent the weekend at Bryan and Shannon's and they all came for breakfast.  Taylor brought his girlfriend, Molly. David loves his "alien head" in this first picture.  He may be the tallest but he's still our baby at 13!

Jennie, my oldest sister has been here since November 11 and will stay until February.

Tom and TyJuana were in OK visiting her mother, Violet, for Christmas and came down to spend a couple of hours with us the week after Christmas.  We were so glad they brought Violet to visit, also.  (They brought delicious barbque, too!)

Sorry to post so many pictures, you should just see the ones I didn't post!  They end with Isaac taking a nap in his Pa's bed.

Oh, we bought a van just before Christmas and it has been sent to Indiana to be modified for Terry!  We are so thankful and excited!  Finally we'll be able to get out with him!  I can hardly wait!  It should be back the end of January or first of February.

Emily will be leaving us Sunday to begin training to be a yoga teacher.  She'll be gone during the week and home only on Saturdays for a month, maybe 6 weeks.  We'll miss her help!
